Jianke.com is about to complete the $100 million financing "light consultation" model and is favored again.

Release date: 2016-01-29

Guangdong's first batch of B2C-qualified Internet medical company Jianke.com recently announced that it has received a round of US dollar fund investment in 2015, and will complete a total of $100 million in Series B financing this year.

It is reported that this is the second time after Ningyuan Technology and Kangzhijia landed on the New Third Board. After Qilekang got the B round of financing, the Guangdong Internet + medical field once again won the favor of the capital market. As one of the many Internet medical companies, the first Internet medical company started with the drug B2C business, Jianke.com is no longer satisfied with “selling drugs” online, but instead puts the focus on “light doctor”. The “diagnosis” platform, which is said to be the “drop” of the Internet medical industry, creates a closed loop of medicines, remote Internet medical care, pensions, insurance and health services.

So, can this model break through the blue ocean of Internet medical care?

Why is the US dollar fund linked to the health net?

Last year's strategic investment in the US dollar fund Kaixin Capital, has always been known in the industry. Belle, which invested in it, once created the largest IPO in Hong Kong. In addition, Kaixin Capital successfully invested in Baoxin Auto (which has been listed in Hong Kong), Tudou (which has been listed in the US and was acquired by Youku), and Baozun E-commerce (already in Well-known projects such as Nasdaq in the United States, Ou Shili, Xinhe Apparel, Dalian Wanda Commercial Real Estate and Huili Agricultural Materials.

“We chose Kaixin not only to value its many capital operation projects, but also to enlighten Kaixin’s enlightenment on our business model and support and help in the process of our process.” Jianke.com CEO, former Baidu Guangzhou Branch Xie Fangmin, the director of the department, said in an interview.

He also admitted that the Internet medical model based on “light consultation” by Jianke.com is an important factor in attracting Kaixin.

As we all know, Teladoc, the largest telemedicine consultation platform in the United States established in 2002, was officially listed on the New York Stock Exchange in the early morning of July 1, 2015, becoming the world's first online consultation company for IPOs.

In addition, Teladoc expects that there are about 1.25 billion outpatients seeking medical care each year in the United States, including access to basic health care institutions, hospital emergency rooms, and outpatient clinics, but about 33% of them can use telemedicine. In the view of Kaixin Capital, telemedicine also has broad prospects in China.

Want to copy the American model to China

Teladoc, who has won the US capital market with a fee-based consultation model, is mainly expanding its platform through selective acquisitions. While Jianke.com is also taking the Internet medical model and plans to explore the US Internet medical model in China, its current path is mainly a more subdivided and focused “light consultation” model.

“US listed companies are listed through fee-based consultations. We currently rely mainly on working capital to subsidize users, mainly in cultivating the market, and at the same time helping doctors to explore graded treatments.”

Xie Fangmin told reporters in Southern China that as of now, the “Picture Doctor” app of Jianke.com has had more than 100,000 customer consultations a day, and a total of more than 4,000 doctors have provided consulting services for patients on this platform.

In Xie Fangmin's view, although the doctors who use the "light consultation" are mainly secondary doctors in tertiary hospitals, they have more time and are more willing to help patients solve problems.

At present, all over the country are trying to implement a grading diagnosis and treatment system, hoping to establish a two-way referral system for grading diagnosis and treatment of community first-instance, large-scale hospitals and primary-level medical institutions. But even so, the big hospital is overcrowded.

To this end, Jianke.com has proposed a model of “big illnesses go to big hospitals, small diseases go to community health service centers, and micro-ills are lightly diagnosed through the Internet”. The so-called "light consultation" is the doctor's help to help patients and their families to determine the priority of the disease and temporary coping methods.

Planning for a closed loop of Internet medical services

Looking at it, many domestic Internet medical companies claim to be in the industry first, and they are not willing to talk about valuations. Jianke.com is more willing to use data to speak.

"We have several hard indicators: First, the revenue has reached 1 billion yuan; second, the number of companies with 1,600 people is also very small in the industry; third, we have opened branches in various regions of China, such as Guangzhou, Dongguan, Wuhan, etc. Fourth, Ali Tmall Medical Center, B2C online pharmacy ranked third in terms of total sales in 2015.” Xie Fangmin, CEO of Jianke.com. He said that at this stage, the most important thing for Jianke.com is the strengthening of its core strength, that is, it needs to further improve the consumer experience and service professionalism.

According to Xie Fangmin, although Jianke.com is the first B2C pharmacy in Guangdong to enter the Internet medical industry, the current Internet drug sales business is only one of the results of the closed-loop operation of the entire industry chain of Jianke.

"We are currently building a closed loop of pharmaceutical B2C, Internet telemedicine, pension, insurance, and health services. The path to achieve this is mainly through the "hand doctor" cut into the Internet telemedicine, using technology to break down the traditional medical care." Xie Fangmin Say.

According to its introduction, the pension business, Jianke.com intends to work closely with the home-based pension platform. As a one-stop platform for providing over-the-counter care for the elderly in Beijing, the “Enjoy Service” has been able to provide all aspects of medical health consultation, home chores, housekeeping, life assistants and other services for every elderly person making calls. . The founder of this project is the director of Jianke.com and Zhou Feng, the CEO of the original handle network.

In terms of insurance, Jianke.com plans to cooperate with Taikang Online, the first domestic website invested by life insurance companies to realize online insurance, and the first website in China to pass insurance CA certification. According to public information, Taikang Online has taken the lead in realizing the whole process of policy design, insurance, underwriting, payment and follow-up services in the country. It is a true “online insurance”.

In terms of health management, Jianke.com announced that it has cooperated with Tencent Sugar Love, and launched the "Teng Ai Sugar Doctor" blood glucose meter in Tmall. Although the online monitoring data of “Teng Ai Sugar Doctor” blood glucose meter is stored in Tencent's server, Tencent has been making an open platform. In the future, Jianke.com will not rule out the cooperation to enter medical big data to explore health management and precision medicine.

Obviously, unlike other Internet medical companies that want to win by logistics or to break through with medical O2O, Jianke.com is making bigger moves in the next step.

Guest: Xie Fangmin, CEO of Jianke.com

Nandu: In what context did Jianke.com develop?

Xie Fangmin: China's online pharmacy is a new thing in the Internet economy. In the United States, it has existed for 20 years, with hundreds of billions of dollars in transactions per year, accounting for 30% of the nation's pharmaceutical circulation. Today, China The proportion is less than one percent, and the health net is born under such a new economic opportunity.

In the past few years, the Jianke.com has been "slowing down the car," but now it needs to "look up and look at the road." When we went to the United States last year, we were envious of the words of a CEO of the US Internet Medical Company. He said that what his team should do is to provide health services for human beings. The profit is something that investors should consider. But in China, in addition to serving health, we may have to consider the issue of profitability.

Nandu: You said that Jianke.com wants to do the "Drip" of Internet medical treatment. How much subsidy do you plan to invest?

Xie Fangmin: After Internet medical financing, everyone spends three main directions: the first is drug price subsidy; the second is market expansion; the third is logistics construction. However, we intend to invest all the working capital after financing.

In fact, before the A round of financing, Jianke.com is the only company in the domestic Internet medical company that does not burn money. Because we got the US dollar fund, we are in a state of low profit. But we are already starting to burn money. In 2015, the amount of money we spent on subsidizing users was close to 10 million yuan. In 2016, over 10 million yuan will be the general trend.

Nandu: How does Jianke.com plan to develop in 2016 and how to break through?

Xie Fangmin: Doing mobile medical care is an industry that burns money. It is not only for huge profits, but also needs a lot of subsidies to cultivate the market. We are also striving to cultivate users' consumption habits, subverting the current situation of difficult medical treatment and expensive medicines in the traditional industry mode, and providing consumers with a better Internet medical consumption experience.

In 2016, with the support of international capital, we will provide consumers with cheaper medicines. In mobile medicine, we will invest more subsidies to recruit more doctors to provide patients with better “light consultation”. service. In addition, this year we will complete the $100 million Series B financing.

As for how to break through, our short-term development goal is to be the leading “light consultation” platform in China. The more long-term goal is to build China's leading online consultation platform with the permission of the health administrative department.
