Recently, related departments such as the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Health have convened a joint meeting to discuss basic drug pricing issues. Several types of drugs, including exclusive varieties in the new edition of the base medicine list and annual sales volume of more than 10 million, will be adjusted to focus at the meeting. Both will be listed as price reduction targets.

The National Development and Reform Commission has issued a draft price adjustment plan for base drugs in recent days, which includes increasing the relevant contents of the price management of exclusive products, including canceling individual pricing, not exceeding the maximum pricing of the NDRC, and strengthening the price management of dosage forms. It is expected that the new version will be based on drugs. The price adjustment will be formally completed before the end of June.

However, people in the industry also pointed out that although the new version of the base drug was formally implemented on May 1, it is necessary to go through bidding and other work to really enter the terminal. In addition, the list of supplements for local base drugs in provinces and cities has not yet been completed, and it must be implemented after the pricing of the national base drug is completed.
