Three methods commonly used for feeding pigs

There are many ways for managers in pig farms to feed pigs, the most common of which are cooked, raw, and dry feeds. But which of the three is better? Here are three commonly used feeding methods.

First, clinker dilute feeding method

The so-called clinker dilute feeding means that after the feed is cooked, it is transferred into porridge like water to feed the pig. The main advantages of this method are that after the feed is cooked, the crude fiber can be softened, the feed volume can be reduced, and the digestibility of the roughage can be increased to a certain extent, the feed intake of the pig can be increased, and the bacteria and parasite eggs can be killed. effect. However, this feeding method is not scientific. Because most of the feed is cooked, the nutritional value is reduced. Feeds such as corn, barley, wheat bran, and rice bran are generally reduced in nutritional value by about 10% after cooking, and in particular, many vitamins are destroyed. Feed cooking also requires the consumption of fuel, which requires the use of equipment such as cooking rooms, pots, and stoves, which will increase the cost of raising pigs. In addition, due to the fact that the feed is cooked, it tends to be deteriorated, and it is necessary to follow the cooking and feeding, resulting in labor costs and low work efficiency.

Second, the raw material wet feed method

At present, many swine specialty households use raw material wet feeding. This method is simpler and more scientific than the clinker sparing method. Before feeding, as long as the crushed roughage and other feeds are matched in accordance with the required ratio and total requirements, chopped or pulped green feed and water (the ratio of general feed to water is 1:0.8 to 1). Stir well and feed the pigs. The raw material wet feeds the provincial firewood, provincial laborers, and provincial equipment, which can reduce pig raising costs. However, the raw material wet feed method also has some disadvantages. The main reason is that the wet feed should not be stored, and it is still required to be adjusted and fed, and in the cold winter it is also easy to freeze.

Third, the raw material dry feed method

Some pig farmers (fields) have adopted raw materials for dry feeding on the basis of wet feed. The raw material dry feed is to mix the crushed fine and coarse feeds into the automatic food tank according to the proportion and allow the pigs to feed freely, feed once a day, and set up a water tank to allow the pigs to freely drink water. With this method of feeding pigs, pig farmers only need to feed once a day, and usually add some green feed and clean the pens on it. This can greatly reduce labor intensity and increase labor productivity. In addition, this automatic raw-sludge-feeding pig method can better approximate the nutritional needs of pigs, allowing pigs to eat freely without being affected by humans, thus increasing daily weight gain and promoting growth and development.

So the above are the three common ways of feeding pigs. It can be proved from the production practice that the clinker dilute feed is not as good as the raw material wet feed, and the raw material wet feed is not as dry as the dry feed. The pig farmers should use the most scientifically reasonable feeding methods to obtain the best pig-raising benefit when the conditions permit.

COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test

The COVID-19 Antigen Test Cassette is immunoassay based on qualitative membrane strip for the detection of COVID-19 antigen in anterior nasal swab
specimen. In this test procedure, anti-COVID-19-N antibody is immobilized in the test line region of the device. After an anterior nasal swab specimen is placed
in the specimen well, it reacts with anti-COVID-19-N antibody coated particles that have been applied to the specimen pad. This mixture migrates chromatographically along the length of the test strip and interacts with the immobilized anti-COVID-19 antibody. If the specimen contains COVID-19 antigen, a colored line will appear in the test line region, indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain COVID-19 antigen, a colored line will not appear in this region, indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region, indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
