Further CT scan revealed a fracture in the middle part of his fourth metacarpal. This has caused the trouble of the customer doctor Liu Rong, because he can not see the exact fracture site on the traditional X-ray and CT scan results, because the fracture is so close, it is easy to go through the operation. So Liu Rong and his team decided to use 3D printing technology to reproduce Xiao Wang's wrist bones and more accurately evaluate Xiao Wang's injuries.
This 3D printed carpal bone model allows the surgeon to customize the operating mechanism according to Xiao Wang's injury, which improves the accuracy of the operation and greatly shortens the operation time.
Surgeon Liu Rong said that fractures like this kind of gap are easily overlooked. Once they are missed, the patient will have intractable pain after the gypsum is restored, which will seriously affect the hand function. Nowadays, the operation is perfectly completed, and Xiao Wang’s injury will heal soon, leaving no sequelae. Only he may never watch the phone while walking.
