Early winter is the peak season when spring egg-laying hens have just entered production. It is also the season when green feed and vitamin-rich feeds are lacking. It is crucial to grasp the following points to ensure the high and stable production of laying hens.
Feeding eggs before feed
When the egg is up to 20 weeks old, feed it before the eggs. The calcium content in the material should be 1%~1.2%, and the crude protein content should be 16.5%. The whole refueling process should be completed gradually in half a month to prevent the refueling from causing the diseases such as laying hens to be diarrhea. After the egg production rate reaches 3%, the feed should have 3.5% calcium, and the crude protein should be 18.5%~19%.
Appropriate control of layer weight
While refueling and calcium supplementation, it is necessary to grasp the control of the evenness of the development of the flock. The large and small hens should be bred in groups and transferred regularly. Do not suddenly increase the material or sudden reduction.
Adjust chicken house temperature in time
The optimum laying temperature for laying hens is 18°C~23°C. When the temperature of the chicken house is too low and the feed is not increased in time, the laying hens will postpone production due to lack of energy, and even if they start production, production will stop soon.
Adjust humidity and proper ventilation
The humidity of the sheds should not be too high, otherwise the chickens will appear filthy feathers, lack of appetite, sickness and illness, and delay the start of production. If the ventilation is poor, harmful gases in the air will increase, and the oxygen content will decrease, which will also make the reserve hen stunted and postponed production. Therefore, when the humidity of the hen house is too high, it is necessary to add more dry materials and proper ventilation to reduce the humidity.
Control lighting timely adjustment
Spring-inoculated stocking hens generally enter the sexual maturity stage at 15 weeks of age, during which time the natural lighting time is gradually shortened. The time of light is short, and it takes a long time to reach sexual maturity. Therefore, after 15 weeks of age, supplemental light should be started to meet the needs of sexual maturity. The illumination time should be maintained at the light hours of 15 weeks of age, but the light intensity should not be too strong to prevent the occurrence of bad habits such as chicken feathers, toes, and backs. The suitable illumination time for the first laying hens is generally 13-17 hours per day.
Feeding enough water to increase nutrition
Drinking water is very important for the first hens. Generally, one hen needs 100 to 200 grams of water per day. Therefore, laying hens can not be short of water, it is best to use a flowing water tank water supply, can also provide 2 to 3 times a week of dilute brine, in order to improve the hen's constitution, increase feed intake. In addition, some carrots or green feed can be fed daily to improve the quality of the eggs.
