The 2014 National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Beijing today. Innovation point 1: Under the leadership of the State Council, a joint prevention and control mechanism led by the Ministry of Health and involving various ministries and commissions was established. The results showed that a single injection of 15 μg vaccine without adjuvant had obvious protective effect, and the safety was high. A successful vaccine was developed within 87 days, breaking the world record, and the protection rate can reach 87.3%. The country has inoculated more than 100 million doses (105 million), effectively curbing the spread of the pandemic. Overturned the World Health Organization's recommendation to vaccinate the pandemic vaccine for two doses, providing an important scientific basis for global vaccine production and use.

Innovation point 7: It is proved for the first time that the A-stream vaccine has nothing to do with Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), because there may be one case per million people in the general population; the number of cases studied can not explain the problem. Innovation 8: Innovative basic research addresses the underlying scientific issues of vaccine effectiveness in prevention and control. The crystal structure of the new influenza A virus HA protein was successfully analyzed for the first time. The three-dimensional structure explained the antigenic determinant shared by the influenza A virus with the 1918 influenza virus and the seasonal influenza virus. The molecular structure level clarified that the vaccine only needs one The needle is an effective scientific foundation.

The comprehensive technology network system for sudden infectious diseases established through the research of this project played an important role in the H7N9 bird flu epidemic in China and the Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa in 2013.

The above research was undertaken by more than 10 major projects such as major infectious diseases, and 29 units including the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention completed 46 people.

Phycocyanin is from the Greek phyco meaning "algae" andcyanin is from the English word "cyan", which conventionally means a shade of blue-green (close to "aqua") and is derived from the Greek "kyanos" which means a somewhat different color: "dark blue". The product phycocyanin, produced by Aphanizomenon flos-aquae and spirulina, is for example used in the food and beverage industry as the natural coloring agent 'Lina Blue' and is found in sweets and ice cream.
