Singapore R & D virus detection chip

Recently, Singapore researchers developed a virus detection chip that can quickly test tens of thousands of pathogens at a time.

According to reports, this virus detection chip was developed by the research team of the Singapore Genomics Institute. By quickly analyzing the patient's DNA samples, it can detect in detail what kind of virus or bacteria the patient is infected within 24 hours.

Researchers said that this test chip can detect up to 70,000 kinds of pathogens such as viruses and bacteria at one time, including the newly emerged H7N9 bird flu virus.

In contrast, traditional virus or bacterial testing methods are generally tested against a specific pathogen and it is difficult to detect multiple pathogens simultaneously.

The researchers said that this new detection method can quickly clear the cause, reduce the time for diagnosis, and the cost is not high. At present, this virus detection chip is only used for experimental purposes. Researchers hope that the chip will be put into the market as soon as it is approved by the relevant departments.
