The number of beds per 1,000 medical institutions increased from 3.29 in 2010 to 5.28 in 2014. The number of hospital beds increased from 150,000 to 247,000, accounting for 64.40% to 69.49%.

At the end of 2014, the total number of health workers in Hunan Province reached 462,700, an increase of 91,700 over 2010, an increase of 24.7%. Among them, 346,400 health technicians, an increase of 78,800 people over 2010, an increase of 30%, a faster growth rate.

In 2010, there were 1.56 practicing (assistant) physicians per 1,000 population and 1.3 registered nurses per 1,000 population. In 2014, there were 1.98 practicing (assistant) physicians per thousand population, 2.02 registered nurses per 1,000 population, and 7.49 professionals in public health institutions per 10,000 population.

In 2014, the average medical expenses for outpatients in hospitals was 241.5 yuan, up 7.96% over the previous year; the per capita medical expenses for inpatients was 6658.8 yuan, up 5.05% from the previous year. The average medical expenses for outpatients increased by more than 7% per year, and the per capita medical expenses of inpatients increased by more than 5% per year. The increase in the average medical expenses of outpatients in hospitals was higher than that of inpatients.

Sixth, the proportion of medicines has decreased

In 2014, hospital outpatient drug expenses accounted for 45.96%, down 1.51 percentage points from 2010; hospital hospitalization drug expenses accounted for 39.39%, down 4.91 percentage points from 2010. The proportion of medical expenses for inpatients decreased even more.
